I have a WSS 3.0 SP2 installation on Windows 2008 (64-bit), and SQL 2005 back-end. This is a new installation that created a wss site collection with a corresponding wss database. I then created 4 site collections (with separate back-ends), and enabled them to use the initial wss database for searching. However, if I run a search, while using a web site from one of the 4 new site collections, no results show up, and no error messages. Any suggestions on what to check to get the search going? The SharePoint Services Search Service is started.
